What is it?

Acne is one of the most common conditions we treat at Associated Dermatologists. Acne occurs when the skin becomes clogged with oil, dead skin cells, or bacteria, causing inflamed, red or puss-filled bumps on the skin’s surface. Hormonal changes, genetics and certain medications can also cause acne. These bumps mostly appear on the face, neck, chest and back and range from mild to severe.

How is it treated?

While acne isn’t a serious condition, it can have serious implications on your self-esteem. Not to worry - we can help! We can use both medical and aesthetic treatment options to help you meet your goals – from prescription topicals, over the counter topicals, and prescription oral treatment to microdermabrasion and laser treatments. No matter the treatment, we can help clear up your acne and prevent new breakouts.

Our board-certified, physician-led teams in Berkley, Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield, Commerce, and Novi, Michigan will diagnose your specific type of acne and prescribe a solution tailored to your needs. Schedule now to accelerate your journey to blemish-free skin

THE TREATMENTS BELOW CAN HELP WITH ACNE:

While it can be difficult to prevent acne, our team at Associated Dermatologists brings a wealth of experience in acne treatment and recommends the following to help minimize breakouts.

1. Keep your skin clean by gently washing your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser.

2. Refrain from picking or squeezing active acne, doing so can irritate the breakout and delay the healing time.

3. Use the right skin care. Our experienced team at Associated Dermatology will help select the products that suit your specific acne condition.

4. Follow the recommended plan provided by our team and give your treatment plan time to work.

Acne treatment is not a one-size-fits-all approach, yet achieving clearer skin is within reach for virtually everyone. Our team of board-certified dermatologists is ready to assist and can craft a personalized path to clearer skin.
