IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Therapy

A non-invasive treatment using high-intensity pulses of light to improve the color and texture of skin in order to eliminate age spots and sun damage.

What is it?

If you are experiencing unwanted age spots and sun damage, IPL may be the treatment for you. IPL or Intense Pulsed Light (also known as Photofacial and BroadBand Light (BBL)), uses a specific wavelength of light to gently and precisely treat deep under the skin’s surface. It works to increase collagen production while targeting unwanted brown spots, redness, and rosacea to improve the overall tone and texture of the skin.

Schedule a consultation with team of board-certified providers at Associated Dermatologists, to see if IPL is right for you.

What to expect

Treatment takes between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area being treated. Patients can expect to feel a slight warming of the skin and mild discomfort during the treatment. Immediately after the treatment your skin may appear red and slightly swollen. The days following dark spots on the skin may appear darker and usually flake off within a week.

Patients can expect to do a series of IPL treatments to reach your desired results.
